Betting game - Tenses revision

Betting game is similar to grammar auction. Students need to decide whether the sentences are correct or wrong and bet between 10 and 100 points on each sentence. This one is designed for revising pre-intermediate tenses. Instructions and notes are on page two of this ESL worksheet. Fully editable.

Betting Game about the Teacher's Daily Routine

This is a betting game about the teacher's daily routine. 1.) Determine the maximum points students have that they can "bet" with then tell students (Eg. 'You have 100 points to use).2.) List times for each daily routine item and have students write the times they hear (NOTE: SOMEOF THESE TIMES SHOULD BE WRONG).3.) BETTING TIME! Students bet bout whether or not they think your routine times are true (0) or false (X) and bet a certain number of points. 4.) Reveal the true routine times for you. Students earn the number of points they bet if they were correct. If they were wrong, they earn zero points.5.) Students tally their points.

Betting Lesson Plan

A fun game that can be used to motivate students to really think about the correct way to say/write something in English!This is a fun activity for a good chunk of class, ideally played with pairs of students and a blackboard or projector. It is good for review of grammar or spelling that students already know.I find that this game works best if you play after playing the Find Your Pair game, which can be found on my profile.See the included examples and worksheet.

This worksheet makes use of the Betty Botter Tongue Twister to help students with pronunciation. It includes a brief minimal pair practice in which students must match the words to their phonetic transcription. I have also included a brief list of definitions for a few words. Note: there are two transcriptions, one uses a tap for the double t spelling and the other uses a t for the double t spelling. In American English, we use the tap (it looks like an upside down r) in normal speech and the t in careful speech (usually when we are clarifying the word for someone). The QR codes are for youtube and soundcloud so that your students can reference a native speaker's pronunciation when you are not around to help them. :) This worksheet was creating using the images I created for my Tongue Twister Tuesdays: Feel free to use this as well. Have fun getting tongue tied!

Damit Grundschulkinder möglichst schnell lesen lernen, müssen sie möglichst schnell alle Buchstaben kennen. Mit Hilfe der Lautbilder können alle Buchstaben des Alphabets schnell gelernt werden und sicher den passenden Lauten zuordnen werden.
